There was a crow on a tree with a piece of meat in her beak. A fox was going under the tree. He was very hungry and looking for something to eat. Suddenly, he noticed the crow sitting on a branch of the tree. He was very clever. He hit upon a cunning plan. He started praising the crow. He said, “Greetings, dear crow. You sing really well. No doubt you are the best singer in the forest. Often I am charmed with your sweet tune. Besides, your feathers are so beautiful. Your eyes are sparkling with beauty. You can’t imagine how attractive your eyes are! I am a great fan of you. But my unfortunate, Oh! How many days I haven’t enjoy your sweet melody. Could you please sing a song for your fan?
The crow became flattered much and overwhelmed with joy. She wished to make her fan happy. As soon as she opened her mouth to caw, the piece of meat felt down the ground. Instantly the fox ate it up and said, “Thank you very much for the meal.”
The foolish crow could realize her blunder but it was too late.
