A Road Accident Paragraph
Road accidents are a daily occurrence, especially in countries like Bangladesh and India. Its number is increasing every day. Thousands of people die in road accidents every year. Many have been crippled all their lives. Thousands of people’s dreams were shattered due to an accident. Many families become destitute because the sole breadwinner of the family is disabled today due to road accidents.
Most road accidents occur in urban areas and on highways. Road accidents occur for a variety of reasons, including non-compliance with traffic laws, reckless driving, faulty vehicles, the tendency to overtake, and incompetent drivers. Most of the time road accidents happen due to excessive speed. It is not possible to brake the car on time due to high speed. In my opinion, the second biggest cause of road accidents is the tendency to overtake. This issue is most noticeable on highway roads. Especially long-distance buses start competing with who will go first, resulting in accidents every day.
The cities of Bangladesh have a variety of defective vehicles, including the Tempo and the Laguna. Battery-powered autorickshaws have recently been added. Those whose speed is much higher but cannot control the speed as the brakes are not so advanced.
Another major cause of road accidents is reckless motorcycling. Nowadays, reckless motorcycling seems to be a trend among young people. Especially young boys ride motorcycles very recklessly. As a result, thousands of lives are being lost, many are spending their whole lives in a crippled condition.
Road accidents are like a curse for our lives. Both the government and the people have to make every effort to reduce road accidents. Traffic laws need to be more tightened and defective vehicles should be banned completely. Strict legal action should be taken against overtaking and reckless driving. Driving at excessive speeds should be completely prohibited. Everyone will be forced to use the foot-over bridge when crossing the road. And the most important thing is to make people at all levels aware of the harmful effects of road accidents.
